Hybrid vehicles are powered by both a gas-fueled internal combustion engine and a battery-powered electric motor that can work either independently or simultaneously. Cincinnati drivers will appreciate that hybrid vehicles don’t need to be plugged into an external source to recharge their batteries. Instead, they can be recharged by driving, idling, and regenerative braking.
Plug-In Hybrid (PHEV) Models

The gas engine only serves as a backup plan should the electric motor run out of charge. To recharge the battery in a PHEV, you can simply plug it into a wall charger, electric outlet, or a public charging station.

If you want to stop using gas completely, get a fully electric vehicle (EV). Environmentalists in Cincinnati will appreciate that electric vehicles release zero carbon emissions. Since they don’t need oil or gas, they also require less maintenance than cars with internal combustion engines. An EV requires a sizeable battery and one or two electric motors. Dual-motor versions have all-wheel drive.
